I remember my first day of kindergarten like it was yesterday. My mother thought I was going to have a hard time leaving her side. I am the baby of my family and I was always with my Mom. I had butterflies in my tummy. I didn't know how things were going to go. This was going to be my first time in a classroom. I walked in and Mrs. Lund looked at me. I think she could tell I was nervous. She said "Come here Sweetie".
Her voice was so gentle. I felt so safe and happy after that. I let go of my mother's hand and I walked right in and took a seat.
She has been a major part of my life since that day. She was my teacher, my friend, and another mother to me. Words can't express the love I have for her. I know she is in a better place and with the love of her life. I remember the days when we would go to the gravesite to visit with Mr. Lund. We would just sit in the car and talk for hours. She enjoyed visiting with him. She would tell me stories about her, Mr. Lund, her children and so much more. I enjoyed moments like those. She will truly be missed by so many. I love you! -Sheree
