WALTER MILTON LAMAR
Dale, IN. – Walter M. LaMar, 99 passed away on May 10, 2019 in Ferdinand.
Walter was born on August 5, 1919 in Posey County to the late Walter B. and Julia (Hayhurst) LaMar.
Walter graduated from Central High School in Evansville. He was a WW II Army Veteran, and served in Italy and the Africa Corps, as a photographer in the battleground photo group unit. After the war he was a Power Control Supervisor for SIGECO now Vectren.
Walter is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 56 years, Mildred S. (Becking) LaMar, a brother, Elmer LaMar, sister, Georgia Nenzel.
Walter is survived by his daughters; Tamara Walz and her husband Fred of Dale, Becky Green and her husband Steven of Morgan Hill, CA. and a niece, Fay Shabert of Myrtle Creek, OR. Grandchildren; Amy Walz, Andrew Walz and his wife Lacey, Anne Walz and her husband Alex Williams, Sarah Stromska and her husband Beck Diefenbach, Katherine Stromska, Daniel Stromska and his wife Christy. Great-grandchildren: Dylan Barnhart, Reid Walz, Harriet Walz, Farrah Walz, Sydney Stromska, Tessa Stromska, and William Diefenbach.
A private graveside service will be held at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery.
