I was Rosemarys buddy through the Alzheimer's Buddies program at Gordon College. I was with her the first day she was at The Atrium at Veronica drive all the way to oosterman's where your family was gracious enough to let me continue to visit her weekly. I couldn't bring myself to search her name as knowing she passed would be very painful. I loved her with my whole heart and she brightened every week for me. I started calling her mama and bringing her naked goods I would make. I celebrated my birthday, Valentine's Day, Christmas, any holiday with her. She was my ray of sunshine throughout my college career. My condolences to her family, the ones I met and the ones I didn't, as I know she loved all of you so very much. I send my love to you all and think about you all often. Especially mama. The Peterson family is always in my prayers. -Vanessa

Rosemary was one of my best friends for nearly fifty years. She and I began a La Leche League Group, each in our respected communities at about the same time. We supported and encouraged each other in this endeavor. Helping breastfeeding mothers was our joy, and became a major volunteer experience for each of us. As a result, each of us studied and passed the first national Lactation Consultant exam. My husband Charles and I often joined Rosemary and Len for an evening of ballroom dancing. We, too, hosted foreign students, and prepared couples for marriage. Our children enjoyed paddle boat rides on the pond behind their house. True, faithful friends - so many wonderful memories.

Tony and I are sending our thoughts and prayers to all of you. We share such wonderful memories of the years we raised our family in Melrose and, especially, the activities we were involved in with Joel and our son David. Their paper route was most memorable always ending with seltzer water with a pinch of fruit juice and a healthy snack. Rosemary was a bit of a mentor for me over the years given the twenty year age difference. I loved the energy in their lovely home and it's beautiful location overlooking the pond. Tony and I have such fond memories of Len and Rosemary as a couple. We are sending our love from Cape Cod to all of you.

To the Peterson Family: We were saddened to hear of Rosemary's passing. We first met her and Len years ago when they came to take ballroom dance lessons from us in Melrose. In fact, they became the couple who attended our classses the longest. We fondly remember their willingness to participate in "Dancing with the Melrose Stars' in 2006 at Memorial Hall. Rosemary was a firm, but gracious, judge!
Prayers for your family. We will miss her, but know that we were enriched and blessed for having known Rosemary...and Len!

Dear Mark,
Jane just sent me your Mom's obituary and I didn't read it until just now; otherwise I would have attended the funeral. Your Mom was a very special woman and I so admired her energy and her faith. What a legacy she left in you and your families. My heartfelt condolences. My Mom passed away a year and a half ago so I deeply understand your loss. I will keep her in my prayers.
With love and sympathy Janina
