Sonia Ehrich Rosenberg
Raised her family in Hillside, known for her big heart
Sonia Ehrich Rosenberg, 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.
A proud Jersey girl, she was born on April 28, 1926, in Newark, N.J., and graduated from Weequahic High School where she shared many lifelong friendships. She attended New York University. She resided and raised her family in Hillside, N.J., where she was an active community member and longtime congregant of Temple Shomrei Torah. She was later a congregant of Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael in Springfield, N.J., and Congregation B'nai Israel in Millburn, N.J.
Mrs. Rosenberg was a Life Member of Hadassah, The Women's Zionist Org. of America, and generous with many other organizations including the American Cancer Society. She is remembered by all who knew her for her big heart, generosity, thoughtfulness, unconditional love and kindness. She was a voracious reader who loved to peruse the newspapers and cut out relevant articles for her dear family and friends.
Mrs. Rosenberg loved her family with all her heart. She was the beloved wife of Curt Rosenberg for 71 years, a love affair that was filled with affection and respect. She was a devoted mother of Sharon (and Arthur) Draznin, Marc (and Amy) Rosenberg, and the late Barbara (and Robert) Halper; loving grandmother of 15 - Marissa (and Glenn) Shuster, Bari (and Andrew) Huber, Andrew Draznin, Haley (and Jason) Leibowitz, Blake Rosenberg, Alex Rosenberg, Drew Rosenberg, Will Rosenberg, Scott (and Sara Halper), Eric (and Jenny) Halper; adoring great-grandmother of nine - Brett Shuster, Jake Shuster, Remi Huber, Justin Huber, Corey Huber, Levi Halper, Aiden Halper, Chloe Halper, Lucy Halper.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 28 at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Home, 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, N.J. 07039.
Shiva will be observed at the Draznin family home on Sunday, June 30 from 2-9 p.m.; Monday, July 1 from 2-9 p.m.; Tuesday, July 2 from 2-9 p.m.
