Carl taught us all how to work bingo and be courteous and kind. Shared our love of tropical fish and computers. Many nights of going out after bingo and drill nights. Miss you dear friend, neighbor and fellow firefighter.

Joe & Carls Family,
Farewell and Rest peacfully with the Lord.
We rode bus #2 with Harold Horton as our driver all thru High School, trained at Fire School in Edinboro, and served our country in the U.S. Navy.
Friend, Classsmate, Shipmate,
Brother Firefighter.
Aye mates, for many years; This sailor stood the watch.
While some of us lay about our bunks at night; This sailor stood the watch.
While others of us were attending schools; This sailor stood the watch.
And, yes, even before many of us were born; This sailor stood the watch.
As our families watched the storm clouds of war, brewing on the horizons of history; This sailor stood the watch.
This sailor looked ashore and saw his family often need his guidance, but knew he must stay because he had the watch.
For many years, he stood the watch, so that our countrymen and we could sleep soundly, in safety, knowing that a sailor would stand the watch.
Today we are here to say the watch stands relieved; relieved by those he has led, guided and trained. Sailor, you sir stand relieved.
WE HAVE THE WATCH.
You have answered the Last Alarm, and performed flawlessly. Rest in the loving arms of the Lord, and enjoy Eternal Peace.
May God's Eternal Light shine upon you forever.

My dad, hank deegan, used to work with Lucy at presque isle plastics...at least I think they worked together. We are related to the mcgranors. I recall many get-togethers with carl dean and Lucy when I was young. Always great food at their home, i just remembered she always had keys on her belt and they jingled when she walked. While in reynoldsville a few years ago, Bridget, my sister, and I stopped by the farm. Carl was not there. I had heard he was not doing well. I contacted social services to try and get him assistance. Because of hippa, I never heard what happened with him. I wish I would have know he was at pleasant ridge. Anyway, I will make a donation to the fire department. He spent much time there and seemed like that was his second family. Sorry for your loss
