Harvey Smith, 87 of Slocomb, AL passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Noland Hospital. Mr. Harvey was born in Geneva County, Alabama on February 9, 1932 to the late James Benjamin Franklin Smith and Stella Jenkins Smith. A U. S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Harvey served as a Military Policeman. He retired as a truck driver for the Graceville Oil Company following over 30 years.
Preceded in death by his wife Willie Jean Jones Smith, daughter Cathy Sue Smith, four brothers Alfred, Frank, Grover and Wilburn Smith, one sister Fannie Smith.
Survived by one daughter Belinda Smith, Slocomb; three sons Larry Joe Smith, Bobby Glen Smith, Slocomb, David Earl (Debbie) Smith, Foley, AL; one brother Jack (Suzette) Smith, Chesapeake, VA; fourteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, a howt of nieces and nephews.
A Home-going service was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Bethel Baptist Church with Bro. Pat Leonard officiating. Burial followed in church cemetery with military honors given by Ft. Rucker Army Base. James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing. Family received friends at the funeral home, Friday 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
