Ralph Edward Beistline, age 93, of Lemoyne, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully at Harrisburg Hospital on July 17, 2019. Ralph was born on May 18, 1926 in Lemoyne, PA and was the son of the late Herman M. Beistline and Blanche M. Goodling Beistline. In addition to his parents Ralph was predeceased by his cousins Ralph D. Goodling Jr., Howard J. Goodling, and Joyce N. Goodling Millis. He is survived by his cousins Dennis R. Goodling and wife P. Christine of Camp Hill, PA and Larry E Goodling and wife Jeanne of Gainesville, FL as well as numerous second cousins. After an accident left him legally blind at the age of fourteen, Ralph graduated in 1945 from the former Lemoyne High School, and later earned his B.A. degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1949. Many of you may remember Ralph for his work with the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind and later as a Rehabilitation Specialist with the Bureau of Visually and Physically Handicapped for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania from which he retired as Director. Additionally, he became a much sought after lecturer and instructor on the subject of vocational rehabilitation. Ralph also had a life-long interest in music both as a musician, and as a professional sound engineer which enabled him the opportunity to work in Nashville and other venues with many of the great country music artists of his time. He also had a close working relationship with Time Life Records and became friends with many within that organization. When he was able, Ralph also participated in the Angel Flights program where he accompanied numerous children on flights to take them for medical treatment for serious diseases or life-threatening illnesses. Ralph Beistline had a standing invitation to eat with the O'Hara family on Sundays, but it wasn't unusual for him to cancel out at the eleventh hour because "the gang" was picking him up to fly him to Boston for a ball game, or to Nashville for some VIP's birthday, or to Indiana to prepare for a charity event, or to some far-flung little town to pick up a child to be delivered to St. Jude's Hospital in Memphis, or to some other place for an all night music jam. For a simple man from the little town of Lemoyne, he sure lived an amazing life. Then he'd come home and regale us with stories. And there was no better storyteller than Ralph Beistline. That's what I'll miss the most. The stories. Godspeed, Ralphie. It's been a pleasure.

God bless you Mr. B. I've learned so very much from you. I appreciate your kindness and your remarkable knowledge in understanding people & developing their talents. Along with your jokes & wit you kept me smiling through my most painful losses of my son & parents. It has been a great honor for me to serve & care for you, over the last 15 years. I pray that God will continue to allow me to help people as long as you did.
