Earl M. Pimm Earl M. Pimm, 80 of Cortland, passed away October 30, 2019, at the Guthrie Cortland Regional Medical Center. Earl was born on Aug. 3, 1939, in Farmington and was the son of the late Newton and Doris Hayward Pimm. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Prior to retirement he had been employed atRochester Lumber Co. for 35 years. He served as a volunteer fireman with the Farmington Fire Dept, Pumpkin Hose Company. Earl is survived by his wife of 57 years, Susan Merklinger Pimm; daughter, Theresa (Tony) Piombo of Cortland; very close niece, Dawn Bradley; brothers, Ronald (Carol) Pimm of Fulton, N.Y., Roger (Linda) Pimm of Avon, N.Y., and Lavern Pimm of Webster, FLa.; sister, Glendora Skipworth of Oregon; step-granddaughter, Heather (Forrest) Marshall and children Erich and Brandon; and step-grandson, Rob Vantine of Florida; and many nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service will be held tomorrow (Monday) at noon at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland, with the Rev. Paul Alciati officiating. Friends are invited to call on Monday from 10 until noon prior to the service. Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery at a later date. My condolences to Earl's wife and family. I knew Newt and the Pimm family while working in Farmington. I remember Earl as a hard working man. Sad to see the old families of Farmington passing away...

I'm sorry to hear of Earl's passing. I enjoyed working with Earl for several years at Rochester Lumber. He was a hard worker and always had a smile.
