Gary Bailey Obituary

CANISTEO - Gary L. Bailey Sr., 69, of Maple Street, passed away peacefully Monday morning (Dec. 2, 2019) at the Hornell Gardens where he had resided for the past few months.

Honoring Gary's wishes there will be no public calling hours or services. A private graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Canisteo.

Gary was born on Nov. 2, 1950, the son of the late H. Leo and Maxine (Thompson) Bailey. He was a graduate of the Canisteo Central School, Class of 1968. Over the years Gary was employed at several different places including the Erie-Lackawanna Rail Road and the New York State Department of Transportation in Hornell.

Gary is survived by his son, Gary L. "Tiger" Bailey Jr.; four grandchildren, Zachary Bailey, Jacob Bailey, Courtney Bailey and Gabrielle Bailey; a sister, Gale Bailey of Canisteo; a brother, David Bailey of Canisteo; three nephews, David (Sarabeth) Ames of Hornell, Devin (Dakota) Ames of Canisteo and Daltin Ames of Canisteo; his former wife and his friend, Christine Drum of Hornell; as well as numerous cousins.
