The Legendary Fred M Migues passed away on his 87th birthday in Lake Tahoe surrounded by family after a fun night of gambling!

Fred was an incredible patriarch who guided our family with strength, love, generosity, positive attitude and a passion for fun. He owned and operated a successful underground construction business for over 40 years in our local community. Fred was famous for his July 4th Pig Roast BBQ's that went on for 39 years. This was an epic event at Migues Mountain in Aptos.
Fred remained very active in his later years and spent his time in his back yard on his tractor perfecting his landscaping, palm trees and fruit trees.
Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend he will be missed and remembered by all who knew him. His memory and legacy will live on forever in our thoughts, hearts and souls.

Our family moved to Migues Mountain Lane when I was a kid and we got to experience the infamous 4th of July parties for several years before Fred and Mina moved away. Rest in peace, legendary man!

My dad, Eddie Shean, and Fred have been friends since as far back as I can remember. I remember Fred always welcoming everyone into his home for fun times and always I was excited we were going to see Fred. His name was always fondly spoken of. He is going to be missed by many. Comfort and peace to his family and friends that will be missing Fred.

Sad news, but a glorious time to know Fred as a loving, caring, human being. He took care of many folks in the community, family, friends, & employees. I worked with Fred as a County Health inspector, and always had a good laugh with him as he installed many septic systems in the county. Later, our rock & rolll band, No Respect, performed for many of Fred's infamous parties. Sadly, Richard Hansen, the band's fearless leader, is is up on that great bandstand in the sky with Fred now. This man led a good life, with the emphasis on fun, food, & family, Love & comfort to the Migues family, and fond memories remain for our friend, Fred.

My thoughts & prayers to The Migues family. Fred was one of a kind. As a childhood friend to his daughter Pam, I have many fond memories of Fred. He would take us for off road rides in his old Willy's Jeep...no seat belts in that bad boy! We would be bouncing all over the place & Fred would be laughing! When we were 14 years old Fred let us drive his VW bug down to the bottom of Migues Mountain Lane to pick up the mail. After we ran the car into the barn at the bottom, Fred wasn't too mad. Well...just a little. Fred had this smile & twinkle in his eyes that always made you feel special. Fred & Mina always treated me like I was part of the family and I will never forget that. All I can say is Fred left a big impression on this young girls life.
I will always remember you. Rest In Peace Fred.

Four years ago we purchased a house on Migues Mountain Lane, and me Famous Fred. When we explored Aptos and surrounding areas. and informed people we lived on Migues Mountain Lane, many responded with wonderful memories or stories they heard about Fred's fabulous parties. Since the Migues family tree started in Louisiana, and are well-known Cajuns, I will close with a tribute to Fred in French.
Faites de beaux rêves et vous êtes commémoré à Aptos.
