Please accept our sympathy. We have wonderful memories of Grace starting back in the 1960s, when she helped many first year teachers like us. She was an inspiration to many of us.

Jane and family, I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. I remember her as a teacher but mostly as the mother of one of my friends.

I will always be thankful to Grace for all the help and guidance she cheerfully gave me when I began my teaching career at Broadway Jr. High School in 1972. Having such a positive lady teaching in the room next door who was always ready with a warm smile and a positive attitude was such an inspiration to a young teacher who appreciated all the help she was willing to provide. She will always have a special place in my heart. My condolences to Georgia and Jane and their families. Many of us grieve her loss with you.

Grace SO will be missed at the Friday morning bridge game! She set an example for many of us on how to "deal" with getting older - I looked forward to her laugh, her conversation & her warmth.

I was saddened to read of one of my very FAVORITE teachers' deaths & sorry for her daughters & their families. She was a wonderful educator, rarely became angry & ALWAYS dressed & accessorized to the nth degree! Her beautiful hair was never out of place. When the wind came through her classroom windows we could smell her huge pots of Geraniums she brought from her patio @ home. I have thought of her often since Broadway Junior High School...even yesterday & how she taught us how to write proper thank you notes. I was JUST telling a new friend how she had us do papers on what we planned on being when we became adults. I always knew I would be a nurse or a teacher. I became both as I became a nurse & did my patient teaching. I was shopping one day, less than five years ago, @ Jubilee in Horseheads & thought I saw her picture in a store ad, attached to a cart. I was so happy to see her there a few months after that and she confirmed it WAS in fact her, in the photo! She said her son-in-law even mentioned he saw it on a billboard whilst driving!
My hopes to her family are that you think of all your beautiful memories with and of her to carry you to a happier place at this time. She was a wonderful, beautiful & amazing woman.
Much love to you all. ♡
