So sad to hear of Nat's passing. He was a great friend and good Christian man. I enjoyed working with him at Gibraltar Coal Company. He was a great worker and good honest man. He will be missed. Praying for his family.

I have known Nat since I worked at Charlie Wilson's Fairway Market as a little boy. We worked together at Gibraltar and Ayrgem together for 18 years.
Jean, I am so sorry and you will be in my thoughts and prayers. Kim and Larry
and families you will also be in my prayers. Nat was a special person to me and I always respected him and his judgements. I considered him a good friend and my mentor. We all had a good time at the mines and the Christmas parties.
Life is short and you don't really realize that until you start getting older. I wish I could be there but I live in Mt Washington now and don't know for sure if I can make it. Love the family so much.

Jean and Kim I am so sorry for your loss.
I have know Nat since I was a young boy growing up in Greenville. I also knew Jean's family and visited there when I was small. I still remember the parrot that they had. I watched many ballgames that Nat played in. I worked for him as a Field engineer for Westinghouse and he worked at Gibraltar. I would show up to trouble shoot one of his machines with a boat on top of my vehicle. Nat would show up on the machine and ask me which pit I wanted to fish in when I finished. He would then take a dozer and make me a new road to the pit. later after Nat took over Shady Cliff, I kept a boat there. I think I spent as much time talking to Nat as I did fishing. We mined a lot of coal sitting in the bait shop or restaurant. He would always introduce me to his friends as the one he called at midnight to fix his machines when he was at Gibraltar. There are so many stories that there is not room here to convey. Nat was a true friend and just good person.

Loved this guy. I told him twenty years ago that if his life was what retirement was about then I never wanted to retire. He will certainly be missed and those of us still here will be spinning Nat J stories for a long time. Jean, Kim and family, my prayer is that God comforts you during the ensuing days. Pat & I will be unable to visit at the funeral home due to being out of state but our thoughts and prayers are with you.
