Carmen Enid Mitchell (nee Diaz), 57, of Cleveland passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Fairview Hospital, Cleveland. She was born October 29, 1962 in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Carmen received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Psychology from Baldwin Wallace. She was employed from 1997 – 2011 at the Transitional Housing and Child and Family Services. She enjoyed collecting figurines, enjoyed cooking, and spending time with her family. She loved caring for her pets, especially Gizmo. Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her sons, James L. Mitchell of Cleveland and Michael E. Mitchell (wife, Kathy) of Parma; brother Louis Diaz Jr. of Cleveland; sister, Esther Stacy (husband, David) of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luis A. Diaz-Roche and Esther Diaz. Carmen will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery, Cleveland. My name is Kelly, and I am an old friend of Carmen's since around 2010. Have not seen Carmen in quite some time, unfortunately we lost contact with each other over the past few years. My memories of Carmen will be held dear to my heart. She was always a very giving person! Carmen always went out of her way to do whatever she could to help a friend or even a stranger. She had a heart of gold! I will always remember some of our conversations and how she could always make me laugh with her silly sense of humor. I I'm so sorry to hear that she has left us too early.
