Sharon and Family,
We are so sorry to learn of Mark's passing. We always enjoyed his joke or clever story when we would see him. The beautiful obituary showed how full his life was and how much he was loved and respected. We always appreciated his help and kindness when we lost our parents. Sincerely, Jim and Mary Jo Chignoli

The staff at Walgreens will miss his smile and especially his jokes. He always brought a smile to my face every time he was at the store. My deepest sympathy to the Dames family, you have always been there for my family in our time of need. May you find comfort in your memories.

Very early on a March morning in 1982, my father had a massive coronary in a hotel room while vacationing on Treasure Island, FL. He was gone in an instant. Mark got the call and through a friend in the business in FL was able to intervene. With a call to
Dr. Tarizzo, Dad's cardiologist, Mark was able convince the coroner an autopsy was unnecessary. . My mother wanted to go home ASAP, but she would not leave without my father on the SAME plane. Mark helped make that happen. My husband and brother-in-law flew down before noon and brought them both home on the SAME flight later that evening. I'm sure this is only one of the many, many kindnesses shown to others over the years. For my family on that awful day, he was a Godsend. I am sure God has been keeping track. The Dames family has been there for the Rowan and Brockett families at the worst times of our lives. Thank you, and God bless.

Truly sorry to hear of Mark's passing. The Dames family funeral services have been there for my family from the loss of my dear grandmother, to both my parents Ted & Dorothy Busse. My sympathies to the family. God bless this wonderful man and family.

I saw him about two years ago in a restaurant, and he greeted everyone at the table with a smile and a positive remark about their family. He was always that way, and that's how I believe he would want to be remembered.

So sorry to hear the news; I always thought of him as a very nice man. I remember the times when I worked at the Herald-News taking obits, he would play jokes on me (my dad owned a competing funeral home) but all was in good fun and he knew the jokes never made it into the paper.

It was my privilege to know Mark and work with him during the past thirty plus years. Our community is a little better place because he was a part of it. "Rest eternal grant to him, O Lord..."
