Patty Ann Newby

Patty Ann Newby, 88, of Anderson, passed away on February 16, 2020 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. She was born on August 13, 1931 in Jasonville to the late John and Flossie (Denny) Followell. Patty had worked at various school cafeterias in Anderson, retiring in 2009 after 39 years of service. She was a member of Eastside Church of God and worked with the children at Parkview Nazarene Church. She also volunteered at Community Hospital in Anderson for 25 years. She is survived by her children, Joyce Willow of Anderson, Ralph Newby of Indianapolis, Scott Newby of Anderson; grandchildren, Misty (Kevin) White, Mathew (Jennifer) Newby, Ambrosia Troup-Hightower, Austin Walls, Bridgett (Karl Bowen) Newby; several great and great great-grandchildren; daughters in-law, Diane Walls, Terry Riley; nephew, Lester "Tom" Criss, and many special friends. Patty was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Newby; son, Michael Newby; grandson, Brett Bair; sisters, Mary Criss, Marjorie Ridge, and sister in-law, Mary Cole. Services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 pm at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013. Burial will be at East Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson.
