Natalie A. Hill passed away on February 12, 2020, in her home in Malden, Mass. Natalie was born in Winchester, Mass., on January 27, 1967, the daughter of Jacqueline V. Wool of Concord, Mass., and the late Robert G. Hill. She was the step-daughter of the late Sheldon M. Wool. Natalie graduated from Winchester High School in 1985, received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1989, and was awarded her Master of Social Work degree from Boston University in 1998. She gave her heart and soul to her career as a social worker, including most recently at Harbor Health Service Plan, where she loved working with seniors in the Boston area. A warm and loving friend, Natalie devoted her life to nurturing her friendships with people from all phases of her life, from her youth growing up in Winchester, through college and graduate school and her professional career. She was a lover of travel around the country and around the world, which she used as opportunities to reconnect with old friends and discover new ones. She took a break from her social work career to spend a year working as an English teacher in Indonesia. Natalie adored her three nieces--Sophie HIll, Althea Hill, and Lucy Hill--the daughters of her brother Christopher R. Hill and her sister-in-law, Susan R. Flicop, of Chestnut Hill. Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Natalie on Saturday, March 7, at 2 pm, at the Concord Funeral Home, 74 Belknap St, Concord, Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Natalie's love for animals to MSPCA-Angell, 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130 or to the charity of your choice.

There are no words to express how much I love and will miss Natalie. My partner in crime. My movie buddy. My "Best Western" sidekick. :) We talked about anything and everything, but somehow I didn't see how fragile she was. I want to offer my deepest condolences to Natalie's family and friends, especially to her wonderful mother, her brother, sister-in-law, and three beloved nieces, who she talked about so much. I will try to live as she lived, with compassion, curiosity, and humor. There was no one quite like Natalie. It sounds cliche but she really did take a huge bite out of life. She lived life with effervescence. I'll miss her infectious smile and that deep laugh that seemed to burble up from deep within. That kind of joyful insouciance she had. I'll miss the way she stood, her posture so straight as if she were about to take on the world. It's hard to understand how someone so alive and so present is no longer here, but she was here to teach us something. I don't know exactly what it was, but someday I hope I will.

All my love to you Natalie. You were a dear friend and it's inconceivable we will not be able to relive our adventures together for years to come and break out in laughter. Or plan new ones. I'm distraught. You were such a lovely soul and I'll miss you to the end of my days.

To my lovely warm Nat, I want to thank you for your spirit, energy and friendship. We really had us a good time together in Indonesia and I will always remember hiking Bromo at the crack of dawn together before jumping on the back of motorbikes with our dear friend Fanny and setting out across the ash flats for home. You sought adventure wherever you were and it was infectious. I will miss you my lady and love you forever. My deepest condolences to your family and friends in Boston. Mimpi Indah! Xxx

I live in Seattle and won't be able to attend the memorial service. I'm beyond disappointed to miss this opportunity to say an official goodbye. I met Natalie in graduate school. Of all the students she was one of the local students and she really made me feel welcome. The moment I told her I was from Seattle she raved about how much she loved Seattle. We hit it off right away. She came to visit several times and we got the chance to travel together to Vancouver B.C. and while she was teaching English in Indonesia. She was the first person I told I was expecting my baby (because she welcomed me with a bottle of wine!). Natalie is charming, funny, smart, social justice driven, compassionate and sometimes quirky-with her need for good coffee, her love for cats, and always trying to speak Spanish to me. She called me her "little friend" because (I'm only 5ft tall) she towered over me. I will miss her terribly. I will miss her gorgeous self, with that beautiful jewelry she wore, her scarfs and her fun style. To her family: Jacqueline, her three nieces and Chris--my deepest of condolences. We are all hurting with you. I wish I could be there with you. With much love, Gabriela
