Ortiz, Jan Marie Jan Marie Ortiz, age 73, of Wyoming, was called home by her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 21, 2020. The daughter of the late Donald and Dorothy O'Dell, Jan was born in Holly, Michigan on January 6, 1947. She graduated from Linden High School in 1965 and attended Detroit Bible College. She then continued her education, earning degrees at Grand Valley State University and at Calvin Theological Seminary. She married Gary H. Ortiz in July, 1967 in Linden and became the mother of Jonathan Ortiz. Jan enjoyed her freelance manuscript editing work, photography, sewing, and her flower garden. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Gary H. Ortiz; son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Deborah Ortiz; granddaughter, Clara Ortiz; siblings: Mike and Bonnie O'Dell, Kay and Leo Reynolds, Bethany and Mikel Lienhart, Lois and Kurt Bemman, Paula and Bill Bedell, Sara and Mark Webster, Ruth and Jerry Martin, Mary and Michael Wolfe, Larry Ortiz; aunt and uncle, Joyce and Lee Miller; a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her nephew, Barney Bedell, and niece, Monica Morley. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, with Dr. Mark Pietscher officiating. Burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 10-11 am at the funeral home prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Meals on Wheels Western Michigan or Faith Hospice. Condolences may be sent online at www.mkdfuneralhome.com.
