I just learned of John's passing; what a sad loss. I remember John as a kind, generous, and thoughtful man. He was always willing to help others in whatever way he could. His legacy as a supporter of young people throughout our local community will live on.

Thank you, John, for supporting PCDA all these years! Your dedication and service have made a tremendous impact on the wonderful work we do. Thank you also for connecting PCDA with Flintridge Prep...you would be proud to know that we have established two new relationships through the Prep Alumni Internship Program and the Athletic Council on Leadership (ACL) Program! May you rest in peace. Thank you for being a great friend to PCDA!

John was my teacher and coach! During my time at Prep, John took me under his wing as he knew that, as a French Canadian kid from Montreal, I was somewhat a fish out of water! His care, empathy and understanding underlined Coach Plumbs big heart! I had so much respect for John and was always there to help.
My condolences and sympathies to his family and friends during this difficult time of loss.

John was a native of Los Angeles and remained here all of his life. He had many favorite endeavors he liked to do including teaching and coaching young men at Flintridge Prep, traveling, membership and service work in Royal order of Jesters and numerous Shriner and Mason activities, helping people work through issues with alcohol, Philanthropic endeavors including establishing scholarships for higher education and most of all a ferocious reader. This is only a part of Johns life. His knowledge of so many topics was unrivaled and yet he found time to be a very good friend to so many folks.
