Hattie Mae Small (Rackliff) of Litchfield, NH went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 11th at the age of 88. She was the wife of the late Charles Small and spent 62 wonderful years together, literally building their home of 60 years. Hattie was born in the little town of Vienna, Maine, daughter of Joseph and Roxie Rackliff. She was predeceased by her four brothers and one sister. Her surviving sister, Esther Hoffman, lives in Turner, Maine. She is survived by her five children, Robert and his wife Beverly Small, Dennis Small, Roxann and her husband Charles Ulee, Linda Small, and Chuck Small Jr. Her son, Richard, passed way and was predeceased by his partner, Sandy. Hattie also leaves behind 11 grandkids and 19 great grandkids, many nieces, nephews and friends. Her firm but loving guidance helped mold the loved ones in her life, and was instrumental in raising others. Her number one joy in life was hugging her grandkids and great grandkids. She also enjoyed yard sales, gardening, and, of course, bingo. ARRANGEMENTS: At a later date, a Celebration of Life will be announced for family and friends to gather together to remember all the great "Hattie" stories. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Cremation Society of NH, Manchester. To view Hattie's Online Tribute, send condolences to the family, or for more information, visit www.csnh.com.

My beloved Aunt Hattie! She lived a life that did not put up anything she saw as "nonsense" She told straight out her opinion with no correctness of any sort! She helped make my childhood one that is full of great memories of her smiling, laughing, and just being Aunt Hattie. She was a strong lady that was not afraid to voice her opinion. I will miss her and think about her for the rest of my life. To my cousins that I as a kid had a lot of great memories: Roxanne, Dennis, Robert, Linda, and Chuck... your Mom will always be the voice of reason in back of my head. We were all so blessed to be under her wing. No one could ever, ever be as cool as my Aunt Hattie.
