Dearest Catherine, Thomas and family,
I was so sorry to learn about Zillah. My deceased wife, Maree, and I loved her so much. My sister reminded me that Maree referred to your mother as "my best friend Zillah" and she was! We also loved your dad very much.
Hopefully you will remember the Christmas we spent together at the condo where we went out to find a Christmas tree and Catherine made beef wellington.
All great memories. Love Stan Gibson, Greenville

Zillah and I go 'way back' to school at Greenville High and our involvement at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer. In fact, our youth group would meet at her house on weekends. Her mother was an 'excellent' "supervisor" and her Dad, Ellison, would keep the boys 'straight".
Her younger brother, Bubba, would try to "peek in" to see what the 'older' kids were doing. I had the distinct pleasure of knowing Gene, her husband, when we were at Clemson together and served in the United States Marine Corps, in Toastmasters and later when we "coached" the high school basketball team at the Church. Gene was a valuable asset to Fluor Daniel.
We had the pleasure of spending some time together at their farm at Edisto. You will never meet a nicer couple.
Our sympathy to the family.
Respectfully,
Tom and Deborah Marchant+
