Jack Mott obituary John C Mott Jr. "Jack", 58, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on September 26th, 2020 following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Syracuse March 27th, 1962, Jack grew up in Camillus, and graduated West Genesee High School in 1980. He attended the University of Denver, participated in international studies abroad (London), and graduated Syracuse University in 1984 with a B.S. in Business Administration/Marketing. Jack is survived by his wife, Meredith G. Mott (Hannon), children Zachary Austin, Jacqueline Grace, Maclean John; Father, John C Mott Sr. (Eleanora) of Fayetteville, sisters Jennifer Bromfield and Jane Perry (Gregory) of Manlius; stepsisters Laurel and Penni Townley of Fayetteville; Many cherished uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Jack's beloved mother, Judith Ferguson (Neville), passed in 2017. Jack spent most of his professional career in advertising sales and media, and owned VR Tour Web Solutions. Previously, Jack was the East Coast Sales Director at Trader Publishing from 1997-2009, and Director of Advertising for Eagle Newspapers from 1987-1997. Jack's community involvement included board seats for the American Diabetes Association, Aurora of CNY, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of CNY where he co-chaired the annual golf tournament for several years. Jack was a loving husband, father, son, brother, & friend to so many. Jack was an avid golfer, former member of Onondaga Golf & Country Club, and the Syracuse Gyro club. His lifelong passions included travel, competitive racquetball, SU sports, and enjoying time with family and friends. Jack lived each day to the fullest and encouraged others to do the same. Callings hours will be held on Monday, October 5th from 4-7pm at Burns-Garfield Funeral Home, 3175 East Genesee Street, Syracuse, NY 13224. Funeral services will take place at 11:30am on October 6th at Dewitt Community Church by registration only due to current restrictions. NYS guidelines will be followed. Registration will be by invitation. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either Johns Hopkins University Pancreatic Cancer Research, or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of CNY.
