Mr. Leonard Adriaan Budding, age 75, of Murray, Kentucky, died on, Sunday, October 18, 2020, at his home. Mr. Budding was born on January 28, 1945, in Indonesia to the late Pauline (Wetzel) Budding. He retired from General Motors, loved the kids, grandkids, and his family. Mr. Budding also loved the ocean, camping, backpacking, hiking, and going to new places. Mr. Budding was a Vietnam War Army Veteran. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Budding and John Budding; as well as one sister, Sonja Budding. Survivors include his wife, Diana J. Budding of Murray, Kentucky; they married on October 31, 1988, in Troy, Ohio; three sons, Bryan Budding and wife Jennifer of West Milton, Ohio, Blake Budding and wife Autumn of Dayton, Ohio, and Rob Kelly and wife Lindsay of Columbus, Ohio; one daughter, Jamie Kelly of Murray, Kentucky; two brothers, Rudy Budding and wife Yvonne of California and Robert Budding and wife Dorothy of St. Petersburg, Florida; one sister, Connie Wetzel of Holland; as well as seven grandchildren, Jake, Meredith, Hannah, Madison, Lexi, Reece, and Zoey. I’m so sorry for the loss of Leonard. I am the daughter of his brother Edward. As a child I would love to go to Uncle Lenny’s house to play with my cousins Bryan and Blake. We lived just down the road from them and we visited often. Uncle Lenny was very welcoming. Every time I’d come to visit I’d remember his smiling face with his warm greeting “ Hello Melissa” . His sense of humor was great and his lighthearted demeanor was very uplifting to myself and the family. I remember his huge garden and picking veggies (especially peppers). We had a great time trying out his new swimming pool. Uncle Lenny was generous and seemed to enjoyed the family. He was really fun to be around. He was creative with “adventures” and fun times he’d create for us kids. He will be missed. My heartfelt condolences to all the family those who love him.

I went to High School with Leonard and remember him to be very kind and very quiet. Always wondered what happened to him until I ran into someone with the last name and he said yes that was his uncle Leonard in Kentucky. May his memory be a blessing.

My heart is heavy with the news of Lenny's passing. As the wife of his brother, Edward, I saw Lenny frequently when his boys and my kids were growing up. I rarely saw him sit down!! Always busy at work or at a new initiative. Lenny always had a huge garden (snakes from time to time) where we would get the hot peppers to make sambal, or hot stuff that Lenny put on everything like it was salt. He loved to kid around and had the most joyful laugh. Lenny was ready and willing to lend a hand when help was needed, or when crises hit. My guess is that he accomplished most things on his bucket list, as he created plans and finished what he started. My heartfelt condolences to family members in Kentucky, Ohio, and globally.
