Robert Osborn Obituary

Published by Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home on Nov. 1, 2020.
Rockland - Robert A. Osborn, "Ozzie," 77, of Rockland MA passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at home surrounded by his family. Ozzie was raised and educated in Hingham, graduating from Hingham High School in 1961, where he was a star of his hockey team, and has made his home in Rockland for the past 43 years. He is a retired electrician and a proud union member of Local 103. His beloved wife Kathy passed away five years ago, and was dearly missed by Oz. It brings comfort to his family to know they are reunited now – imagining them on one of their famous Sunday drives. A handyman by nature, Oz could fix anything and was passionate about antique car restoration and maintenance. Since retirement, Oz spent most of his time in his garage working on his 1929 Ford Model A sedan, 1930 Ford Model A coup, 1932 Ford panel truck, and 1952 Chevy pick-up truck. He proudly showed his award-winning antique cars around the country, and could be seen regularly driving his '52 Chevy pick-up around town. Oz was an active member of the Rockland Aerie of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and considered his friends there as extended family.  He was known, respected, and loved by everyone, leaving a lasting impression without even trying. He was the devoted husband of the late Kathy (Redman) Osborn. Beloved father to daughters Chrissie Farrell and her fiancé Ron Penn of South Carolina, Kimberly Donovan and her husband Gerard of Hull, Beth Soper and her husband Donnie of Rockland, and Molly Fabiano and her husband John of Braintree. Loving Grampa to Samantha Shockey, Isabel and Dominic Pica, Carly and Amelia Donovan, Desmond and Rose Fabiano; and great grand-daughter Violet Basset. A son of the late Francis and Ruth (Litchfield) Osborn, he is survived by his brother Richard Osborn and wife Andrea of Hingham. The Osborn family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Robert's life on Thursday November 5, 2020 from 5:00-8:00 PM in The Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home. A Private Funeral Service will be held on Friday November 6, 2020.

AMBER DAY

November 5, 2020

Words cannot do Oz justice in describing the kind of man he was. When he came up for races and stayed over were some of my favorite memories of him and my dad. He made me laugh constantly, being goofy, telling jokes, or telling stories of them when they were younger. He always talked about you girls, your mom and the grandchildren and how much he loved you all. I will forever hold those memories close to my heart. He will be missed. May he rest in peace. I'm so very sorry for your loss Beth, Molly and extended family.
