Fred Charles Cox, Jr., age 78, passed away on February 1, 2021. He was born on August 7, 1942 in Stockbridge, Michigan to Fred and Haley Cox. He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl; son Bret Cox; daughters Sandy Dolan (Dean), Debbie Wells (Rick), stepson William Krueger (Angela), grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Kelly, in 2016. Always a compassionate, caring man, Fred had numerous loyal friends including his monthly Breakfast Club with his high school friends. Fred served in the Army Special Forces, 1960-1968. After his military service, Fred was a dairy farmer in Dansville, Michigan before retiring from the State Prison of Southern Michigan. Fred excelled in bowling, also enjoyed deer hunting with Jim Hauser and won numerous Texas Hold 'Em tournaments. He was a Christian who always respected others; he will be missed by many. Respecting his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held in the spring. Cherie , I’m so sorry for your loss. Fred was such a nice man , I’m sure he will be missed so much ! Howard passed away over a year ago, maybe they will meet up and visit ! I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers !
