John E. "Jack" Cullity Jr., 73, died Feb. 4, 2021, from complications associated with Parkinson's disease. He was born in Manchester on March 30, 1947, the son of John E. "Jack" Cullity Sr. and Mary (Linehan) Cullity, and was a lifelong Queen City resident. He grew up the oldest of six siblings on Manchester's East Side and graduated from Bishop Bradley High School in 1965. He received a bachelor of arts degree in history from St. Anselm College in 1969 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. Jack owned and operated the Cullity Insurance Agency in Manchester for more than three decades, taking great pride in running his own business and serving the needs of his many loyal clients and several longtime employees. He was a tireless supporter of St. Anselm College, receiving the President's Award in 2005 and regularly attending Mass at the Abbey. He was also an accomplished golfer who won the Derryfield Country Club championship in 1975 and scored two holes-in-one during his lifetime. He was an active member of the Manchester Country Club for more than 50 years. Family was most important to Jack. He married Manchester native Elaine (Senneville) Cullity in 1970 and together they enjoyed a wonderful, loving relationship and raised two sons, Michael and Daniel. Jack wholeheartedly embraced his roles as a husband and father and served as a true role model for both of his sons. Jack and Elaine enjoyed vacationing with their sons on Rye Beach, where Jack was an enthusiastic body surfer, and at Lake Winnipesaukee, where he enjoyed exploring the lake in his boat. Sadly, Elaine lost her battle with cancer in 2004. To mark the one-year anniversary of Elaine's passing, Jack organized a family trip to Ireland, the home of his ancestors. Jack was blessed to meet and fall in love with Cathy Duffy Cullity, and they married in 2008. In his later years he was the beloved patriarch of a large blended family. He treasured his relationships with his sons and their wives, and embraced his role as a stepfather to Cathy's two children, Erica and Michael. Jack was close with all of his siblings, and he and Cathy took great pleasure in hosting family and friends at their Manchester home, with many a summer day spent enjoying company by their backyard swimming pool. He was filled with pride and joy as he watched his 11 grandchildren interacting. Surviving family members include his wife, Cathy; son Mike and his wife, Bethany Earls; son Dan and his wife, Alison; stepdaughter Erica Grenker and her husband, Adam; stepson Michael Weber and his wife, Allison; and grandchildren Stella Cullity, Shane Cullity, Julia Cullity, Deirdre Cullity, Grant Cullity, Maya Ritchie, Sophia Ritchie, Max Weber, Finley Weber, Zoe Grenker and Ian Grenker. He is also survived by three sisters, Cathleen Manning and husband Chuck; Barbara Guinan and husband Mike; and Maureen Cullity; two brothers, Bill Cullity and wife Roberta; and Brian Cullity and wife Lynn; sister-in-law Joan Lessard and husband Joseph; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Due to the current pandemic, a funeral Mass and burial will be private. A plan for a celebration of Jack's life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jack's memory to St. Anselm College, Class of 1969 Memorial Scholarship Fund, 100 St. Anselm Dr., Manchester 03102. Had the pleasure to caddie for Jack in the Manchester City Tournament. Had to be the longest player in the field, a joy to watch play. Jack handled victory and defeat with grace and aplomb. A great role model. He will be missed but not forgotten. My condolences to his family and friends. Rest in Peace.

As a kid, I always found it strange that Jack Sr. was “Big Jack”, while Jack Jr., at 6’5”, was “Little Jack” but when you get older you understand . Jack was always the older cousin and thinking back now, with the benefit of some wisdom, what I respect most was that Jack was ALWAYS a gentleman. I have a fond memory of caddying for Jack in the Manchester City Championship as a kid – I’m sure I cost him a stroke or three but he never complained. He was one of the good guys. It’s sad that the pandemic doesn’t allow for an in-person celebration of Jack’s life, but to Cathy, Michael, Dan and all the Cullity clan, my deepest condolences and prayers.

Condolences to the entire Cullity family. I met Jack and his siblings at OLPH. I always enjoyed our conversations and was awed by his big high draw off the tee. Accomplished on the course and off. Great person indeed. Thoughts and prayers, Don Van Uden

Jack has always been a God fearing man of integrity I admired when he married my cousin. As time passed, I would see him at Mass (which is where I where I first met Cathy) He would always inquire how my Dad was after my Mom had passed. I knew it was genuine because that's the kind of gentleman he was. Many good memories. My condolences to all. I know he is in a better place. Gods finger touched him, and he slept.

Although I have never met Jack, I've known his lovely wife Cathy for many years. I remember the year they married and the happiness that has radiated from Cathy ever since meeting Jack. I have had the pleasure of hearing about what a wonderful man he was to her and all of their children and grandchildren over the years and it has warmed my heart and now my heart just aches for them all, especially his loving wife, Cathy. My heart goes out to you all, sending hugs and keeping you all in my heart. xoxo

Jack was the definition of a gentleman. From the moment I met him, he was welcoming (I had just moved to NH), kind and helpful. I will never forget the fact that after he retired and would come into the office, he always stopped to say 'hello'. Cathy, I'm so very sorry for your loss. Jack was such an upstanding man. You and your family are in my thoughts.
