Our condolences on Albert's passing. It was always great to visit with Albert, Evelyn, Brenda, Roger and Sara. He lived a great life, including his time in Europe when he was in the Army. We were happy to see him whenever we visited California.

This video of our Uncle Albert shows that he was always the life of the party, and a great friend to everyone. I am very happy Israel and I visited him early 2020. Albert had a great spirit and joie de vivre. We always enjoyed discussing computers with him, and he loved the time he joined Israel at a computer conference in Palm Springs where he was speaking. It was great to know someone his age who had so many interests. Our deepest sympathies at his passing.

Only saw my uncle three times in my life and only remember two of them, but he was quite an energetic larger than life personality! I remember Aunt Elizabeth & my mother would drop everything to run to the airport to see him passing through to somewhere else. That lead to the famous bathroom story that Gretchen hates (& I don’t blame her), but I honestly don’t remember if we ever made it to the airport that time. I remember Aunt Evelyn as a wonderful, warm person. I wish they had been able to visit us more often. Holly & Bill’s wedding was so memorable because they came to that along with so many other relatives & friends! I always wished that it had lasted a couple additional days as I tried to move around & greet everyone & it was never enough time! One of the best days of my life other than 50 years ago today (March 4) when Tom & I eloped with about 10 friends joining in the fun - no one there ever forgot that day! Of course the other two days were the birth of Sara & Holly! I remember the last time I saw Uncle Albert & Aunt Evelyn in Iowa with Brenda & Roger. Lots of fun & another time I wish had been longer. Lots of memories you talk about & want to keep close!

Albert was a wonderful brother, kind to everyone and very sociable. He graduated from high school and immediately went into the service, He was stationed in the very same area that his mother was from and so spoke that dialect of German. Albert found the bakery that his mother's family once owned in Pirmasens, Germany, near the French border. By that time, none of Albert's relatives were left in Pirmasens so the bakery was owned by a different family. Albert did have one uncle Charles Biele, his mother's only brother, but Uncle Charles had gone to the USA sometime after WWI. Many years later, Albert was able to connect with his Uncle Charles, in California. Mary Schuchmann says it was very hard growing up in Oelwein, with no grandparents, uncles, aunts or cousins. She has many fond memories of her brother Albert, and his wife Evelyn. May he rest in peace and comfort. She sends lots of love & condolences to Brenda, Roger, and Sarah.
