Roger Leo Hebert, 94, of Manchester NH, passed away on March 8, 2021 peacefully at his home with family and friends by his side. He was born on January 30, 1927 to the late Aime & Yvonne (Desmarais) Hebert and would go on to marry his best friend and the love of his life, Dorothy, with whom he shared over 50 years of marriage. A lifelong resident of Manchester, Roger developed a deep sense of community and family within his neighborhood, as there are very few who would not recognize him on his daily walks or fixing up something in the area. After school Roger joined the Navy and served in Guam, a service of which he was proud of his entire life. Upon his return, Roger worked at a shoe shop and in security for Digital in his later years. Those who had the privilege of knowing Roger will remember a kind, humble and pious family man who was forever loyal to his family, friends, and community. Roger was his town's handy man, having rarely come across anything he could not build or fix himself. He built and restored decorative furniture and cabinetry, decks, projects, and most importantly the home in which he lived, loved, and died. In addition to working with his hands and remaining busy, Roger loved being outside, his daily walks around the neighborhood, and his faith in God. He was devoted to his faith, family, and community until his final day. Above all else, Roger loved his family immensely, and will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched. Roger has joined his wife Dorothy Hebert, son Dennis Hebert, sisters Rita Taillon, Constance Mandeville Estelle Moses & Lorraine Helie in heaven. He is survived by his son Kevin Hebert and his partner Dwayne Bernard, son Brian Hebert; sister Doris Gagnon; daughter-in-law Kathleen Gianni as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family members and friends. Calling hours for Roger will be held on Monday, March 15 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes, 243 Hanover St. Manchester, NH with a service beginning at 7:00 PM. He will be laid to rest at the NH State Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday, March 16 at 11:00 AM. Donations in Roger's memory can be made to the Meals on Wheels program of At. Joseph Community Services or the Manchester VNA Hospice Association. https://www.mealsonwheelsnh.org/services https://www.manchestervna.org/give-a-gift
