David R. Dunn

David R. Dunn, age 76, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, March 25, 2021. Beloved father of Jonathan (Monica), Jessie, Christina, and Alan; dear brother of Denise Rochelle and Russell. Preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Jean Dunn (nee Payne). David was a 1962 graduate of St. Edward High School. Retiring early, David spent 20 years traveling between here and San Pancho, Mexico, north of Puerto Vallarta, where he rescued sea turtles and helped locals learn English. He always offered words of wisdom when asked and usually within one sentence. David was a quiet, contemplative man who read a lot of books in his lifetime. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served as a medic in Vietnam. David later wrote a newsletter for veterans. Services are private. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with Army Honors.
