Lewis Leggett Obituary

Lewis Corbett Leggett Jr. age 53, a resident of Washington, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at the Vidant Medical Center after a short illness. Lewis was born on June 23, 1967 in Washington, NC to Lewis and Betty (Hodges) Leggett. He worked for many years in the construction industry and was exceptionally talented in the many facets of the trade. Lewis was known and will forever be remembered as one who would never let life get in the way of keeping in touch with those he loved. He would always be first to pick up the phone or stop by just to check in and would never shy away from helping a friend or loved one. If you needed him, you could always find Lewis grilling a good meal or at his favorite fishing hole. Recently, Lewis affirmed his love, trust, and hope in Christ by being baptized at the Alligood Church of God. Along with his parents, Lewis is also preceded in death by his sister Cynthia Radcliff and uncle Ashley Leggett Jr. Lewis is survived by his life partner of over 15 years, Ann Knox; sister and brother-in-law Melody and Ronald Huss; aunt Rebecca Leggett; uncle C.C. Hodges, and many cousins who will all remember his love. A memorial service will be held 12:00 pm Saturday, May. 15, 2021 at Joseph B. Paul Jr. & Washington Funeral and Cremation. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service & Washington Funeral and Cremation are assisting the Leggett family.

I've known Lewis from Grandma Leggett days. We talked alot, mostly about fishing. Boy oh boy Lewis loved to fish as much as me. I will never forget a hugh Bass that Lewis caught. It was a monster!Over the years i got to know Lewis
more and more. Lewis was kind and loveable, and will be missed by many. To the family members. May each of you have strength and faith from God during this time. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Love to each of you.....
