Marcia Young Talbott

Marcia Young Talbott, 72, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of William S. Talbott entered into eternal rest Thursday, June 10, 2021. Her funeral service will be held Monday, June 14, 2021 at Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church, 302 Hibben Street at 11:00 am immediately followed by a reception at the church. A private burial will be held at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 13, 2021 at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road from 4:00 - 6:00 pm. Marcia was born August 21, 1948 in Charleston, West Virginia, daughter of the late Charles L. Young and the late Marjorie A. Young. She earned a master's degree in both counseling and art from West Virginia University and utilized both during her career with Charleston County Schools. Marcia's life was one of service and she showered her family and friends with love. As an active member of Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church, Marcia was greatly involved in hospice ministry, Stephen's ministry, hospital volunteering and visitations. She was also an active sports enthusiast. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Marcia poured her life into her family. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 44 years, William "Bill" S. Talbott of Mt. Pleasant, SC; son, Chris Talbott (Shelley) of Johns Island, SC; two daughters, Holly Stier (Matt) of Johns Island, SC and Mary-Kate Morrissey (Shannon) of James Island, SC; sister, Harriett Hoy (Rick) of Charleston, WV; and grandchildren, Carson, Eli, Isaac, Silas, Hayden, Beckett, Eliza, Shepherd, and Lyda. She was preceded in death by her sister, Kathryn Young and granddaughter, Elliana. Memorials may be made to Roper Hospice Cottage, 676 Wando Park Blvd, Mt Pleasant, SC 29464.
