Jackman, Joseph. Lucan, Co. Dublin & Woodlawn, New York "Ahh Jaysus", it's with great sorrow we share the passing of Joseph 'Joe' Jackman on July 10, 2021 in Woodlawn, New York. Joe was born in 1959 in Lucan, Co. Dublin and is survived by siblings, Ann, Margaret and Pascal. In his youth he developed a love of farming, and a passion for tractors and motorcycles. He went on to serve his apprenticeship as a diesel mechanic. He drove the length and breadth of Ireland as a truck driver before moving to New York in 1986. He lived in Bainbridge for many years before moving to Woodlawn where he spent his final days. Joe worked on building New York with scaffold, welding and general construction. Joe will be remembered as social man who loved the craic, and was well known to many neighbors and friends. As a long-time member of Celtic Motorcycle Club New York, he was clubhouse manager for many years, and a raffle ticket seller extraordinaire! Joe combined his love of motorcycle racing, travel and the odd Coors Light with good effect, trips included classics, Daytona Beach, Florida - most every year, Laguna Seca, California & the Brickyard at Indianapolis. Ar dheis de go raibh a anam. A celebration of Joe's life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, New York on Saturday, July 17, 2021 from 3pm - 6pm. Deeply saddened to hear of Joes passing. I have very fond memories of Joe. One such memory was when I brought Joe to buy his first motorbike in the '70's to Dublin City centre. His love for motorbikes took off from there. Will miss you Joe, rest in peace. Uncle Mick & Family.
