George Lloyd Johnson

George Lloyd Johnson, 88, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Dorothy Benton Johnson, entered into eternal rest Saturday, July 31, 2021. His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, August 3, 2021 in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the West Ashley Chapel Tuesday from 1 pm to 2 pm. Lloyd was born August 7, 1932 in Conway, South Carolina, son of the late John Quincy Johnson and Elnita Gore Johnson. He was a retiree of the Charleston Naval Shipyard, where he worked as a Superintendent. He was a member of Northbridge Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dorothy Benton Johnson; and his sister, Wilma J Silver of Charleston, SC. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Q. Johnson, Jr.; and six sisters, Grace J. McMillan, Myrtle J. Usselman, Genevieve J. Thompson, Louise J Smith, G. Loretta Rabon, and Joan J.
