James Terry Obituary

Visit the Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home - Lavon website to view the full obituary.
James "Russell" Terry, 48, of Wylie, Texas, lost his courageous battle with COVID-19 on December 5, 2021. Russell was born on October 8, 1973 to father Jerald Walter Terry, who proceeds him in death and mother Linda Sue Terry, who survives. Russell is survived by his brothers Michael Terry and Donald Terry. Russell married Michelle Renae Bluestein on May 27, 2007. He is survived by his loving wife, Michelle Terry; son Ethan "Kyle" Terry; son James "Brandon" Terry; daughter Kaitlyn "Katie" Terry; daughter Lily Terry; son Ryker Terry; grandson James "Pete" Heese; and grandson Aaron Heese. Russell acquired life-long friendships with his Wylie transportation/bus barn family and very much enjoyed the time he spent working there. He also spent years looking at life through a lens. Behind a camera was one of his favorite places to be. Practicing his passion in photography led him to meet many amazing people who positively impacted his life. He used his gift of photography to share to others through teaching photography and found great joy in doing so. In his free time, you would often find Russell out in the countryside riding his motorcycle, camping with his family, or spending time outdoors. Russell also loved to be creative, expressing his talent through drawing, painting, and 3-D printing. He was a bit of a foodie who loved to cook and try new recipes to share with his family. Russell's sense of humor, his laughter, and his presence will be truly missed. A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Lake View Cemetery at 2343 Lake Rd. Lavon, Texas 75166. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Terry Family through the go-fund me set up to help support Russell's surviving family: https://gofund.me/47451e9c

Russell I will so miss your smiling face when I come to visit...
You have been a truly wonderful husband to my sister! Thank you for the special moments you brought to her and the kiddos! I know you will watch over them and keep them safe! And thank you for caring and helping our parents and my brother EVERY time they called in need. The world was truly a better place with you in it. Please send us messages to know you are with us.. shiny pennies, a cardinal, a dime... Know you are loved by all of us and in our hearts every day. We are smiling up at you in heaven. Love you brother!

I love you Daddy. I really miss you and i wish you could be here right now. I know you continue to watch over me and I continue to look up at the sky as if I could see you too. What I wouldn't give to see you one last time as the happy caring person you once were. You meant the world to me and still do. I will continue to try to keep going and live with and pass on the legacy you left behind. Rest in peace Daddy. I love you soooo much.
