Elaine and Kris and members of Edna's family, I was saddened to read of your mom's passing. Reading the wonderful article which was in the "Cedar Community Live More" magazine that arrived in the mail today which told of her and her sisters living life well together was so touching. It sounds like she made the most out of every experience she met. God be with you all as you share memories of the wonderful times you had together with your mom. Please accept my condolences. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Edna was a true treasure. I and my husband have been members of Good Shepherd for over 46 years and have aged with all the other members that joined in the 70’s. It was cool to see Edna join when she moved to Cedar Ridge, and then see her sisters follow in her footsteps and also join. Her quilts were beautiful and some were sold at a fundraiser to benefit Branches Lutheran Schools in Haiti, a nonprofit that has over 1,000 students that hear God’s word and receive a Christian education. and hopefully a better future. Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the world. My mother perhaps worked with Edna back in the 60’s to 80’s at Amity. Her name was Hertha Zirbel. May all take comfort in the assurance you have that Edna celebrated Christmas in Heaven.

Aunt Edna's life was well-lived and an inspiration to us all. Her dedication and perseverance in helping others has been a guiding light for all of us in completing community and family service activities. She will be greatly missed. Her funeral was poignant and touching; thank you for sharing it live on-line. We are sorry that we have missed the opportunity to see a lot of relatives to express our condolences, but are grateful for what could be shared with us today. All the best to you, Love, Martha, Gary, and Michael Girdaukas
