David Meadows Obituary

Visit the Joyce Funeral Home - Waltham website to view the full obituary.
Dave Meadows was a quiet, simple, no-frills kind of guy who has left a wonderful impact on many people. He absolutely loved his annual trips to Ogunquit, Maine to take in the beauty of its area, walks along the Marginal Way, its beautiful beach and cold water along with the great and familiar spots to take in a great meal and something to drink. Simple pleasures are what made his heart smile. He was also an avid and loyal New England sports enthusiast and was quite vocal when watching his beloved Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins. It was all in good fun but there were times one might think he was a sideline coach with all his commentary to the players. Dave lost his two-year battle with cancer on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 in Lahey Clinic. He was 71. David J. Meadows was born on January 23, 1950 in Arlington a son of the late Harry and Catherine (Sliney) Meadows. He was a graduate of Arlington High School and then went on to working in the electrical field. Dave had just celebrated his 35th year at Standard Electric.  He was an icon in the commercial lighting market in greater Boston but more importantly was a friend that you could rely on whenever anyone needed help.  Dave's contributions to the lighting team were invaluable.  He helped the company grow and was a significant part of its success. He will be dearly missed by many. He married Lois A. O'Donnell on June 22, 1987 and together they loved to travel and tend to the various dogs that joined their family throughout the years. In addition to his wife, Lois, he leaves his daughter, Dina M. Warwick (Christopher) of Woburn and their children, Christopher and Morgan; his siblings, Joseph Meadows (Maureen) of Rhode Island and Harry 'Whitey' Meadows (late Elaine) of Arlington and the late Kathleen Patalano; nieces & nephews including Erin Papaleo (Ronald) of Arlington. Family and friends will honor and remember Dave's life by gathering at for visiting hour at 10 a.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, January 20th followed by his funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial is private. David was a great man. He provided everything he had to his wife and girls. His Grands gave him great pleasure. I know he will be missed by all of them and all of us who knew him. He was most happy when he sat in the yard in Ogunquit watching the boats go by. Lets hope his place now is just like that. Love Sue
