Cassidy Patrice Baracka, 7, of Groton, Massachusetts, lost her life on January 18, 2022 as a result of complications from Covid-19. She leaves behind her mother, Donna (Maziarski) Baracka, of Groton and her grandfather, Walter Maziarski, of Milford, MA. Cassidy is predeceased by her grandmother, Millicent (Ange) Maziarski of Woburn, MA and her "step" grandfather, Thomas Brown of Millbury, MA. Cassidy also leaves behind her Aunt, Melissa (Maziarski) Palmer, and husband, David Palmer, of Melrose, MA and their four children: Ashley, Emily, Meghan, and Matthew. Her mother's cousins', Thomas and Sandi Cullen, of Pennsylvania, Christopher and Kellie Cullen of North Carolina, Jeffrey and Carol Cullen of Northborough, MA and Kara (Cullen) and Timothy Flood of New Jersey, along with their combined nine children, were all cousins of Cassidy Patrice. Cassidy was an avid dancer (4 years), singer, gymnast (5 years), Girl Scout (3 years, current Brownie Scout) and all around artistic child. She colored and drew rainbows on a daily basis and loved to make pictures for people to thank them or to brighten their day. It was very hard not to smile when you met or ran into Cassidy because she smiled all the time and told hilarious jokes. She was a kind, helpful and inclusive spirit. She was very inquisitive and smart with just the right amount of sass. She loved her mother very much. The pair did everything together, including attending over a hundred Bruins games since her birth, multiple trips to Disney World, a Disney Cruise and attending 2 showings of Disney on Ice annually. She was learning to roller skate and loved riding her bicycle from her grandfather, her scooter and electric scooter and her hoverboard. She bounced on the trampoline from her grandmother anytime weather permitted and swung on her swing set in all sorts of weather. She loved outdoor time at her summer cottage with her best friend, but she was also happy to just sit and play cards or tic tac toe or sing and dance with her favorite grown-ups. Cassidy also leaves behind her Pomeranian puppy, Delilah Cupcake, whom she loved endlessly, and four house rabbits; Kensington Christie, Griselda Marie, Oreo and Snickerdoodle. Her "Aunt" Joan Lawlor, of Tyngsborough, MA, although not related, was a constant figure and a guiding force throughout Cassidy's life. Her place in our hearts will never be full again. Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Cassidy for a period of visitation on Sunday, February 6, 2022 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St., Littleton. Funeral service and interment will be private. A memorial fund has been established as the Cassidy Patrice Baracka Rainbow Brigade. This fund will be used to support community services earmarked for children K-4 in the greater Groton area. Donations to this cause in lieu of flowers will have a lasting impact to the local community. A check may be mailed directly to Cassidy Patrice Baracka Rainbow Brigade 167 Wintergreen Lane, Groton, MA 01450 or via Paypal at: https://www.paypal.com/pools/c/8GS7rtAneh

We've never met yet my heart is touched by the passing of your beautiful Cassidy. I am sixty years old but I still vividly remember my childhood, and seven is such an incredible age. I have drawn, and sung, and played sports, and loved babies and the elderly, and animals since a very young age and I identify with who your Cassidy was while she was here. My deepest condolences to her Mom, family, friends, loved ones, and all who Cassidy touched in her short life. I want to say that energy never dies, it changes state, and I say that from personal experience, which is why I am certain she is healed, and happy and joyful, surrounded by loved ones gone before. it is us, the ones who are left to mourn the passing of those we love, who face the greatest challenges in overcoming our grief. I pray your hearts and minds find comfort and happiness in the years Cassidy was with you, and that those years will sustain all the years of your lives. Peace unto you, with love...

To all of Cassidy's family and friends, I am so sorry for your loss. I do not know you but saw the story online. Normally I do not do more than read a story like this but I want you to know that this affected me tremendously. Cassidy seemed so full of life and I hope beyond hope that she has found a better place than this cruel world. May her memory always make you smile and laugh. I will think of her for a long time all the way from Toronto. Much love

Donna, my heart is broken. I loved Cassidy and I loved seeing her grow over the years into such a beautiful, bright little girl. She was so lucky to have you as a mother; so many amazing experiences, everything from Disney to Bruins games. She was so loved and I'll always keep her in my heart and prayers. I have so many photos of us from when I used to babysit, she was such a little character, and I will cherish those memories forever. <3
