Erika Rich, 28, of Scott Township, courageously fought, but lost her three-year battle with Breast Cancer on February 14, 2022. Erika turned her unfortunate diagnosis into a personal cause to help others and her battle was an inspiration to many. Erika founded Bloomfoundation.gives, a foundation aimed at helping others with their own battle against breast cancer. Getting her message out enabled her to be followed by thousands on various social media platforms and her motto for life was "Love Over Fear." Erika and her sister Jessi, painted this message, as a large mural, on West Liberty Ave in Dormont. One of Erika's many passions was yoga, she was a 500-hour trained yoga instructor and regularly practiced yoga, even in her last moments, yoga brought her peace of mind. Erika loved traveling to new places and often went with friends, but always found new ones along the way. Even though we missed her deeply when she was traveling, we knew when she was exploring, she was feeling great and living her best life. Erika is the daughter of Shari Sinclair and David Sinclair and Matthew Rich and Colleen Hill, beloved sister of Nicolas Stawowczyk, Jessica(Gabe Kleinert), Joshua and Mckenzi Sinclair, Brittany Buchanan, Billy and Christopher Hill. Granddaughter of Jerry and Helen Fisher and the late Ed and Judy Rich. Favorite aunt of Julius, Landon and Clara. Erika was the niece of Jerry and Michelle Fisher, Heather and Gary Diesel, Ed and Phyllis Rich, Dan Rich and Romayne Bendyk. Cousin to Kiersten, Camren, Lacey, Aiden E.J., Cathy, Rachela, Max, Gianna, Nico, Elizabeth, Judiann and Isabella. Erika also had many friends that became family. She will also be missed by her special four-legged friends, Stella, Pia and Huckleberry.. Erika was a 2011 Graduate of Chartiers Valley High School and a 2015 Graduate of Wittenberg University where she was a member of the women's soccer team and a sister of Delta Gamma sorority. Many of Erika's college friends and teammates joined her close circle of friends. Erika's sisters also found their second home and followed her to school at Wittenberg. "Tiger Up!!" A special thank you goes out to the doctors, nurses and all the staff at the Magee Breast Cancer Center, everyone there treated Erika like she was their daughter or sister. As per Erika's wishes there will not be a funeral or viewing, she will be cremated and a celebration of life is currently being planned for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to her foundation can be made to Bloomfoundation.gives by mail to: 111 Green Oak Lane, Pittsburgh, PA 15220 or Venmo: @Bloomfoundation WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE (412-563-2800), Scott Twp, entrusted with the Rich Family arrangements. www.slaterfuneral.com

Although I never met her, I feel as though she had been a long distance friend. I loved following her social media posts. Her smile lit up any room! She was so inspiring, and she put herself out there even during the times she struggled. She was such an amazing person and fought this with such grace. Her work with the Bloom Foundation showed how big her heart was. Her story will live on for sure! Every time I messaged her she replied. I looked forward to her posts and will miss seeing her updates. My heart is broken, but I know it doesn't compare to the pain her family and friends are feeling. My heart goes out to all of you, and I hope you find comfort in knowing how many lives she touched. I will always remember this beautiful girl and the impact she had on so many of us. Sending comfort to her family from afar.

I never met this sweet child but followed her journey. Although her pain was real, we worship knowing that Erika is now pain free and sits at the right hand of Jesus. "Such an inspiration to all"

Erika showed us how to live when faced with a terminal illness. Her strength and positivity while faced with so much was a lesson in grace and perseverance. Heaven gained an amazing Angel! My sincere sympathies to all who loved her near and far.

Although i didn't personally know Erika, her story came across my social media feed one day. I was intrigued about her optimism - her story and her wonderful outlook on life. She is so invigorating and gave so many hope. As i read her obituary - it made me think of this ---

Erika didn't pass away, she didn't lose her fight and she certainly didn't lose to the disease.

Cancer didn't win, it was without a shadow of a doubt her voice that won out.

Im so sad to read this.. never met her but followed her journey. Erika was beautiful inside and out. Such a strong young woman and you could not help to fall in love with her spirit. I so thought she would beat this ...just heartbroken to see this. May she rest in peace.. My heart goes out to her love ones..

Following Erika's journey has taught so many of us lessons we never expected from a 20-something year old. She was an amazing young lady and her spirit will live on. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time.
