Jeannette R. (Belanger) Ruest

Jeannette R. (Belanger) Ruest, 85, a resident of Dracut, died Friday, April 1, 2022 at D'Youville Manor in Lowell, MA. Jeannette was predeceased by her beloved husband Norman, with whom she was married for 52 years. Born in Nashua, NH on March 13, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Gerard and Cecile (Nadeau) Belanger. Mrs. Ruest enjoyed spending time visiting and playing cards with friends. She spent her summers boating on Lake Winnipesaukee and winter vacations in Florida. In her retirement years, she enjoyed daily walks at the Pheasant Lane Mall and fellowship of friends she made there. She particularly enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a communicant of Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish in Dracut and was a long serving member of the parish bereavement group. She was also a member of the Dracut Senior Citizens Club. Prior to her retirement in 1993, she was employed by the Town of Dracut as Assistant Treasurer. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Sally Ruest of Alton Bay, NH, a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Arthur Gagne of Dracut; three grandchildren, Hannah Ruest of Belchertown, MA, Michael Ruest Jr of Jacksonville, FL and Stacey Gagne of Everett, MA. She was the sister of four brothers, Roger Belanger of Deerfield Beach, FL, Ernest Belanger of Nashua, NH, Normand Belanger of Hudson, NH and Reverend Monsignor Gerald Belanger of Meredith NH. Family would like to offer heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Appleton Care Unit at D'Youville Manor. Relatives and friends are invited to Jeannette's Life Celebration on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 4 until 7 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 10 AM at Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Church, Dracut. Interment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeannette's memory to D'Youville Manor, 981 Varnum Avenue, Lowell, MA 01854.
