Although I was not friends with Nick for long, I often find myself thinking of him. We had only spent time together on a few occasions however I believe, when someone makes an impact on you it doesn't matter how long you knew them.
My absolute favorite memory with Nick was one specific moment we got alone on the beaches of Turks and Caicos. All of our friends had gone and decided to do their own tasks for the day. I made my way down to the beach with a book to read and was completely oblivious that Nick was only two chairs down from me. I was lost in my own world when I suddenly hear "HANNAH!". I looked over and there was Nicky, holding his book, smiling right at me scooting closer to my chair. We discussed our books and I told him I collected seashells. Of course then he insisted we go look for some to add to my collection. We stood in the water and looked together, talking for over an hour about everything. I told him about my upbringing and my family, and was very vulnerable and in return he was too. He made me feel comfortable telling him anything and I'll never forget that. By the end of our discussion we must have been holding tons of shells. We stood there and picked which ones were best and I still have them to this day. I was going to put them with my others but they are too special to me. We noticed a friend walking up and he told me I was a "great addition to the group.". I'll never forget that. Standing there just talking to him, appreciating life, he even bought me a scoop of mango sherbert before we left just because I said it looked good.
I did not know Nicholas Samuels long but he will forever have an impact on my life and who I am as a person. I hope to be half the person he was and miss him and what could have been a beautiful lifelong friendship. Love you forever Nicky.

Nick walked into a cafe I was working at on Boylston and convinced me to come by tesla for a test drive. I did. I convinced my family to lease a tesla almost a year later. Stayed in touch with nick a bit. I remember the last time I saw him I was pulling out of the prudential center garage in the new Tesla right as he was pulling in. We waved and he recognized me. I applied to work at tesla a few days ago after finishing school. I was going to text him for advice. Found out this news, very sad to hear it. Hope he's well.

So sorry to hear of Nicks passing. Nick had the most infectious laughter I've ever heard. I was his neighbor during our Freshman year at CU, and getting to know him was such a joy, and I can confidently say that 8% of my life's laughter occurred that year, and likely in Nicks presence. It is impossible to describe the pain of the tragic and sudden loss to you, to us.
It is impossible to describe what Nicky meant to us all, individually and together.
He was so close to me, I loved him so much...loved talking, sharing attitudes and emotions, being questioned by his inquisitive mind; sharing his warm, huge heart and generosity of spirit ...in short, having had the privilege of communications with Nicky at a very deep level, and about matters close to his / our hearts.
Meeting Nicky in Vermont or when he visited in Montreal, was always a highlight - the highlight. His being wrenched from us all leaves an incredible hole in the epicentre of the entire family. It will take a very long time for the pain in the gut to slowly lessen....to be overtaken in part, eventually and progressively, by the joy of memories and sharing about Nicky.
The right words cannot be chosen. Simply, I loved him and will continue to do so

Our heartfelt condolences for the terrible loss of Nicholas at such young age. We remember him so well as our son Federico's host at Wayland Middle School when we arrived from the UK, then as his soccer teammate while Fernando served as assistant coach to coach Bailey. Nicholas always conveyed to everybody calmness and even temper, all with a wonderful smile. We did not see him for many years, until he came to our house about 6 years ago when our son suggested that he demo a Tesla car for us. His enthusiasm and knowledge about the company's mission and what EVs meant for the planet was so contagious that we ended up becoming one of his many customers.
