Patsy L. Polhill

MILLEDGEVILLE – Patsy Lee Polhill, age 89, died Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Polo Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Polo. Pasty was born on January 20, 1933 in Milledgeville the daughter of William and Vera (Crawford) Ritenour. She was a 1951 graduate of Milledgeville High School and attended Western Illinois University in 1953. Patsy married Allen Polhill on June 27, 1953 in Milledgeville. Patsy was employed at Gold Thorp Grocery and Clough Drug Store in Milledgeville. Family always came first. She was always available to help anyone out. She loved her kids and grandkids and would do anything for them. She never said a bad word about anyone. Patsy was very active in the church and many clubs which she served on. Church choir and music were favorites of hers. She had coffee with friends, her stories, and card club parties that she enjoyed. Thanksgiving and Christmas were very special to her. She made sure her home was filled with love and laughter. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her. Survivors include her husband, Allen Polhill of Milledgeville; one daughter, Sara (Cory) Janssen of Milledgeville; one son, Burt Polhill of Milledgeville; one brother, William (Diane) Ritenour of Milledgeville; sister-in-law, Lois Ritenour of Milledgeville; two brothers-in-law, Lee (Arden deceased) Polhill and Ray and Marna Polhill; eight grandchildren, Heather (Shawn) McCord, Eric Hersh, Christopher (Alicia) Hersh, Jessica (Rick) Hutchison, Brittany (Joe) Gabbard, Brandon Polhill, Dylan Janssen and Carly Janssen; ten great grandchildren, Delcie McCord, Zane McCord, Aubry Baxter, Kendra Hutchison, Alexa Hutchison, Elyssa Hutchison, Kobe Gabbard, Kysen Gabbard, Kruz Gabbard and Britlyn Gabbard. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Sally Polhill and Susan Polhill; one brother, Ronald Ritenour; one sister, Virjean Scholl; and one granddaughter, Kasandra Polhill. A gathering of family and friends will be from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the Milledgeville United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 30, 2022. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor Joel McClellan officiating. A memorial has been established to Serenity Hospice of Oregon and the Milledgeville Fire Department.
