John E. Rodenbaugh

John E. Rodenbaugh of Punta Gorda, FL and a former longtime resident of Norristown, passed away peacefully on Sunday April 17, 2022. He was 66 years old. Born November 4, 1955 in Norristown, he was the son of Joan E. (nee Vitabile) Rodenbaugh and the late John P. Rodenbaugh. John is also survived by his soulmate and best friend Kathryn (nee Mooney) Rodenbaugh, with whom he shared 42 years of marriage. In addition to his wife Kathryn, John is survived by his two sons: Michael (Erin) and Matthew (Kelly), grandson Peyton, three sisters: Joni Reedy (Dennis), Cheryl Kelly (Michael) and Kathy Rodriguez, as well as his niece and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Edward Rodenbaugh. John was a devoted, loving father who cherished his family and friends more than anything else. At an early age, basketball quickly became an enormous influence in his life, admiring Philadelphia Catholic League and Big Five basketball. He would go on to play at Delaware Valley University before coaching at Bishop Kenrick High School for many years. After moving to Bordentown, NJ to raise a family, he treasured coaching his two sons at St. Mary's Parish in the Burlington County CYO league, as well as the local Bordentown Area Basketball League. John spent much of his professional career working at Lockheed Martin where he developed life-long friendships and lasting memories he would never forget. He made a tremendous impact on everyone he touched and will always live on in the hearts of those closest to him. Relatives and friends are invited to share John's Life Celebration on Sunday May 1, from 6 PM to 8 PM and again on Monday May 2, from 8 AM to 9:30 AM at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike, 610-277-7000. His Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 600 Hamilton St. Norristown, PA. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
