Leon Omer Paquette

CHICOPEE – Leon Omer Paquette, 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 8, 2022. Leon was born in Holyoke, a son of the late Omer J. and Beatrice (Grandchamp) Paquette. Leon grew up in Holyoke and attended local schools. He worked in his younger years for the Holyoke Transcript and also Parks Photo Labs. Leon was an Accountant by trade and worked for Worthington Compressors and later Atlas Copco. He also worked for the Yankee Pedlar and the Franco American Club in his part-time as their accountant. He was a longtime member of the Holyoke American Legion. He enjoyed photography in his spare time and spent many hours watching the Red Sox. Leon was very active with his wife in Teen Encounter weekends. They enjoyed yearly vacations to Coastal Maine and Ogunquit in particular. Leon and Suzanne often spent hours working on jigsaw puzzles. Leon was predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years, Suzanne J. (Bail) Paquette on November 27, 2012. He leaves his sons; Richard of Hartford and Michael and his wife Donna of Chicopee. His brother, Bernard “Bernie” and his wife Beverly of East Longmeadow, 2 nephews, and several cousins. GRAVESIDE SERVICES WITH THE CATHOLIC RITES OF COMMITTAL WILL BE HELD PRIVATELY AT NOTRE DAME CEMETERY, 63 LYMAN ST., SOUTH HADLEY.
