Richard D. Boerman "Dick"
Newark: Richard D. Boerman "Dick", 82, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, July 18, 2022.
A compassionate and sincere man, Dick dedicated his life in service to others through banking and community involvement. His career in banking spanned nearly forty years and it allowed him the opportunity to work in a variety of roles from branch manager to Vice President for corporate lending. Throughout his career Dick worked with three area banks: Ontario National, Lincoln Rochester, and JP Morgan Chase, from which he retired with more than 25 years of service. Upon retirement from banking, he joined Newcut Inc. to serve in a managerial role. Within his community he led and supported numerous civic organizations, serving as president of Newark Rotary, Newark Country Club, and treasurer of the Newark Wayne Community Hospital Foundation. In addition, he played an active role in the local United Way chapter and served as a member of the finance committee at St. Michael Church for several decades.

Dearest Sandy...There have been so many wonderful family adventures with you and Dick, (especially our camping escapades). Dick helped me through some difficult times as a financial mentor at Chase, always being helpful and supportive. My deepest sympathy to you...I pray that your faith and the love, caring, and support of friends and family, will see you through the days to come.

Sandy,
It´s a great thing that we have such great memories to help us through such sad times as this. I have many of these memories with my friend Dick, the days he worked at Ontario Bank in Clifton, so many days and nights with Dick and Dave at the Ski Shop with your Dad, the Father and Kids camping trips, trips to 1249 Hunting Camp, Family Camping trips, and the fun projects in Adrian´s shop in the garage. This is the kind of person that Dick was, just a great person to call a friend.

I have known Dick for many years, though not in recent years. And he was a gem. I met him at Lincoln Rochester when I got a loan for a car. That was 55 years ago. He inspired me to be loyal to that bank for a long time. I also worked with him on many community projects through the Chamber of Commerce, and always enjoyed our interactions. I'm sad to hear he is gone, but he definitely left a big imprint on the Village of Newark. My deepest sympathies to his family. May your memories fill your hearts with joy as you celebrate a life well lived!
