Tim Roberto died peacefully on 20 September 2022 at Windrose Assisted Living in Woburn surrounded by his family. He was the son of Amelia Ippollito Roberto and John Roberto. Tim was a life-long resident of Wakefield and a graduate of Wakefield High School Class of 1945. He was a great athlete; played Varsity football for three years, co-captained the football and captained the hockey teams. After graduation he joined the Coast Guard, completed his service and worked various jobs - often two jobs - before starting Roberto Construction Company. Some of his local public projects were the aviary at the Stoneham Zoo and the Arts and Science building at Nazareth Academy. He was a hard worker and proud of his projects. He was a board member of Wakefield Trust Savings Bank. He was generous spirited. Charities and friends were beneficiaries of this kindness and generosity Tim loved golf and is likely playing 18 holes as you read this. The family will be donating his 60 or so putters. Raise your hand. He sniffed out that the decades old wall he built at the edge of Lake Quannapowitt was decaying. He was upset that it might be under warranty. Now retired, repairing it would interfere with golf. An accomplished golfer, he won the Presidents Cup at Salem Country Club where he was a member for nearly 40 years. A hole in one on the 3rd at Salem CC with a five iron. The caddies loved him. He tipped well. Tim loved his work, golf and his family. In retirement Tim and his wife spent winters in Florida and travelled overseas. And of course, he golfed. Tim leaves his wife of 76 years, Barbara Ryan Roberto, who he was besotted with. They had five children, Donna Treanor, Cynthia Goudie, Susan Sciascia, Tim Roberto, Jr., and Lisa Nash. He leaves eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; his brother, John Roberto and sister, Elizabeth Steele. He was predeceased by his siblings Arthur "Butch" Roberto, Angelo Roberto, Augustine Cardiavelli and Nunzio Roberto. All of his children, their partners, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and siblings will greatly miss him. We all loved him dearly. The family is grateful to all staff at Windrose Assisted Living for the loving and dignified care they gave our Dad. In his final days, he was smoothly assisted in his transition to his golf club in the sky by Hospice of Brighton, Newton MA. A private family viewing was held on Saturday, 24 September. Mom and Dad supported St. Jude Childrens Hospital. Donations may be made by phoning 800-822-6344 or by mail at Sy. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105

I wish to express my sincere condolences to the entire Roberto family. I just returned from vacation and learned of this heartbreaking news.
Mr. Roberto was a very special person through my youth. He was Larger than life. We enjoyed many good times and hockey trips together.
I'd love a putter, but he putted from the right side not the correct side.
Timmy, I am very sorry for your loss and that I missed his service.

I have such fond memories of hanging out at the Roberto home on Converse St. It was such fun playing pool in the family room, swimming in the pool, making taffy (and a mess) in the cabana, skateboarding, sledding, and just hanging out in the wonderful family home. Mr. and Mrs. Roberto were always (well, almost always....see taffy incident) laughing and very welcoming.
My condolences to the Roberto family, Nancy Grilk
