Judith Anne (Hall) Rader, also known as "Granny," 75, of New Castle, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026, at 9:59 p.m., surrounded by her family and friends.
Born on July 21, 1950, in Richmond, Kentucky, Granny lived a full life centered on family, friendship, and the simple joys that meant the most to her. She was known for her sense of style, her love of singing karaoke, and her spirited way of embracing life to the fullest. Granny was also an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the American Legion, where even at 75, she could still be found enjoying herself and reminding everyone that she had not outgrown a good time. Granny was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She found joy in gardening, cooking, hosting family gatherings, and holding onto an old-fashioned charm that made her truly unforgettable. She had a special way of bringing people together and creating a warm, welcoming presence for those around her. She was the heart of her family, the one who kept everyone connected, and the glue that held so many treasured memories together. Following the passing of her daughter, Angela, Granny and her husband, Patrick "Poppy" Rader, took on the responsibility of raising Angela's two sons, James Laypoole and Colton Hovermale, from a very young age. This reflected the deep love, strength, and devotion to family that defined her life.
She is survived by her children, Daniel Wilson, Michelle Wilson, Ronald (Kendra) Wilson, and her step-daughter, Michelle Rader; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her devoted companion, Jerry Stephenson.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Hall; her father, Jefferson Hall; her brothers, Buddy Hall and Bill Hall; her husband, Patrick "Poppy" Rader; her daughter, Angela Wilson; her daughter-in-law, Valerie Wilson; and her grandchildren, Daniel Wilson II and Jack Young. Granny shared more than 30 years of marriage with her husband, Poppy, who was an incredible, hard-working, traditional man adored by the entire family. Together, they built a life rooted in love, family, and lasting memories that will continue to be cherished by all who knew them. Granny's life was marked by strength, laughter, warmth, and an unwavering love for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of togetherness, resilience, and countless cherished memories that will be carried forward by all who were blessed to know her.
