Al Harrington (1935–2021), actor known for “Hawaii Five-O”

Al Harrington was an actor best known for playing Detective Ben Kokua on “Hawaii Five-O.”

Actor and entertainer

Born Tausau Ta’a in American Samoa, Harrington was raised in Hawaii and later became well known as an entertainer in Waikiki. His dance review, featuring his Polynesian dancing, was popular at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki for years. Harrington was cast in “Hawaii Five-O” in the show’s fifth season and remained a series regular through the seventh season. He returned to the 21st-century reboot, “Hawaii Five-0,” playing surf shop owner and bus drive Mamo Kahike in a recurring role.
