David Lynch collaborator
Angelo Badalamenti learned to play the piano growing up and earned a master’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music. He created music scores for films including “Gordon’s War,” then had his big break when he was hired to be Isabella Rossellini’s singing coach for David Lynch’s film “Blue Velvet.” He would compose the score for the movie and work with singer and fellow Lynch collaborator Julee Cruse. He then scored mainstream films including “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” and then worked with Lynch on scoring his cult classic TV series “Twin Peaks,” winning him a Grammy. He worked on most of David Lynch’s projects including “Mulholland Drive” and “Lost Highway.” Outside of films, Badalamenti collaborated with David Bowie, synth-pop band Pet Shop Boys and metal band Anthrax.
