Astroworld Festival Victims (2021)

Eight people died, and dozens more were injured, at the Astroworld Festival at Houston’s NRG Park on Friday.

The deaths occurred as the music festival’s founder, Travis Scott, was performing. A large crowd rushed to the stage and the crowd crush resulted in deaths and injuries.

The names of the victims have been released:

Axel Acosta, 21. He was a computer science major at Western Washington University.

Danish Baig, 27. He was a district manager at AT&T. He attended the festival with his fiancée and was helping her get out of the crowd when he died.

Ezra Blount, 9. He was attending the festival with his father.

Madison Dubiski, 23. She worked in advertising and marketing, and she was attending the festival with her younger brother.

John Hilgert, 14. He was a freshman at Memorial High School in Houston.

Jacob “Jake” Jurinek, 20. He was a junior at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, studying art and media.

Franco Patino, 21. He was a student at the University of Dayton, studying mechanical engineering technology with a minor in human movement biomechanics.

Rudy Peña, 23. He was a medical assistant at a rehab clinic and was studying criminal justice at Laredo College.

Brianna Rodriguez, 16. She was a junior at Heights High School in Houston.

Bharti Shahani, 22. She was a student at Texas A&M University, where she studied electronic systems engineering technology.
