Eight people were killed in a series of shootings at three spas in the Atlanta area.
The shootings took place at Aromatherapy Spa and Gold Spa, both in Atlanta, and Young’s Asian Massage, in nearby Acworth, Georgia. It is feared that the shooting may have been a hate crime against Asian Americans.
All eight of the victims have now been identified:
Daoyou Feng, 44
Hyun Jung Grant. She was an employee of Gold Spa.
Suncha Kim, 69. She was a native of Korea who became a naturalized U.S. citizen and won the President’s Volunteer Service Award for her work feeding the homeless.
Paul Andre Michels, 54, of Atlanta. A U.S. Army veteran, he owned a business installing security systems. He was doing some work at Young’s Asian Massage when he was shot.
Soon Chung Park, 74, of Duluth. She was the day manager at Gold Spa.
Xiaojie Tan, 49, of Kennesaw. A native of China, she was the owner of Young’s Asian Massage.
Delaina Yaun, 33, of Acworth. A mother of two, she was getting a couples massage with her husband, who was able to escape uninjured.
Yong Ae Yue, 63, of Peachtree Corners. A native of Korea, she was a licensed massage therapist at Aromatherapy Spa.
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp tweeted, “Our entire family is praying for the victims of these horrific acts of violence.”
