Inspired by Elvis Presley, Lahiri was known for his colorful fashion sense, wearing sunglasses, gold chains, and velvety jackets. He was called “Bappi Da” and composed music for many Bollywood hits including “Adventures of Tarzan.”
Notable Quote
“I am in a happy space. I am blessed. Since childhood I had a dream of living like Elvis Presley; he was my idol. I remember once a man refused to accept that I am Bappi Lahiri because I was wearing a coat to protect myself from cold and he couldn’t see my gold chain.” – Interview with Times of India
